I wanted to share an amazing experience that I had with Chaverim this morning. At a little after 6am this morning, with temperatures hovering around 9 degrees, I suddenly found myself locked out of my car with the keys in the ignition, the engine running, and no way to get back into my house. I had no idea what to do. I realized that calling Chaverim this early in the morning might be a shot in the dark (pun intended), but I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, a few minutes later a (not surprisingly!) tired dispatcher picked up the phone and let me know that someone would be contacting me shortly. A few minutes later, I received another call, and a couple of minutes after that, a car arrives with Chaverim responder Elie Goldstein (sp?) (Unit 52). Within minutes, he was able to pry open my car door and unlock the car. I have an incredible amount of appreciation to both Elie and to Chaverim in general and feel very proud to have such an amazing organization in our community.
Tizku le’mitzvos and thank you again
