Ben Stokes begins legal action against The Sun newspaper over report on family tragedy
England all-rounder Ben Stokes and his mom have launched legal action against sunlight newspaper after it released a front-page story reporting on a family catastrophe from over three years ago.
The cricketer lambasted the paper as it publishedincredibly painful, sensitive and individual details around his family , beating it asutterly disgusting.
Proceedings in the High Court were registered in September 30, according to Byline Investigates, according to News Group Newspapers (NGN) – The Suns parent firm.
The instance is recorded as an intellectual property claim related to copyright.
A representative of The Sun declined to comment.
The front-page story on September 17 concerned a family catastrophe between the 28-year-olds mom, Deborah Stokes.
In a post on Twitter – that received tens of thousands of retweets, enjoys and encouraging remarks – Stokes reported a reporter had turned up at his parents house in New Zealandfrom the blue to inquire them concerning the catastrophe.
The Sun replied that it had contacted Stokes prior to printing the guide andat no stage did their agents ask us to not print the story.
It noted in its narrative that the few and the cricketer had declined to comment.
