FanDuel NHL DFS Picks – October 19th
The FanDuel NHL DFS Picks of last night were excellent and did some damage.
We saw a few high ownership with our three-man Capitals pile, however it was not worth the evaporate as the trio of all both Nicklas Backstrom, Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson combined for five assists along with 11 shots in the night to go along with a few power play assists also.
The remainder of our lineup saw reduced possession and it really repaid. Our three-man Blackhawks pile obtained a power play goal by Alex DeBrincat who was just 6.8percent owned. While a power play helper was led by Erik Gustafsson, deBrincat notched an assist. Finally, Jonathan Toews ripped the overtime winner at only 4.1% possessed while he also fired three shots on goal and blocked one as well. Production at low ownership.
Our lost-cost one-off wingers gave lineup a shot. Brett Connolly scored to go along with four shots on target. Alex Chiasson notched an assist, three shots on goal and a blocked shot just 2.6% possessed.
Eventually , our goaltender Robin Lehner had a big night, turning 37 of 39 Jackets shots aside and picked up the win on Toews overtime winner.
It was our best lineup of the season to this point and Ill look to stay hot on the nine-game slate that is main of tonight!
C — Derek Stepan (ARI) — $5,600 vs. OTT
Even the Arizona Coyotes are hot and they have gotten their offense after tallying nine goals over their last two matches, going. As he notched a pair of assistance — both on the power play along with three shots on 44, after a quiet start to his season, Derek Stepan was a part of their 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday. The two helpers indicated his first points since scoring a goal at the clubs season opener back on October 3rd, so it turned out to be a long time. In a season, we all know what to expect from your 29-year-old Stepan. After notching 35 points within an injury-shortened 72-game year this past year, I would expect Stepan to return into the mid-50s in which was finished for all the preceding five seasons. While we must anticipate around 15-20 goals for the play-making centre he recorded between 53 and 57 points for five seasons. Stepan is the teams top centre at both strength and on the top power play unit as he gets set to undertake a Senators team thats tied for 24th with 3.50 goals against per game this season having a 16th-ranked punishment kill that sits at even 80% on this year. I love Stepan hitting tonights upside.
C — Tyler Johnson (TB) — $4,900 vs. COL
The Lighting and Avalanche get together tonight for a battle of the titans in Tampa Bay, and the Dragon could have the upper hand at this one as theyll face an Avs team that is playing their second match in as many nights tonight following a hard-fought 5-4 overtime win in Florida last night. The Avs have been good this season, last night but they did slip just a bit against a Florida Panthers crime that was great and this is that a treacherous back-to-back contrary to the very offense in the NHL. The Lighting will get backup goaltender Pavel Francouz in this one , after Philipp Grubauer notched the win. Francouz was good this season, however that came against a struggling Coyotes crime at the moment. This is very much a whole other animal against those studs. Enter Johnson whos off to a good start this season with 2 goals and four points in seven games to go along with 14 shots on target. While he centers the second power play unit johnson is the groups second line centre at even strength. Tampa Bay has averaged 3.71 goals each game in the early going with a power play thats clicked at a healthful 26.3%, and so I will look for them to secure more offense going tonight against the Avs.
W — Phil Kessel (ARI) — $7,200 vs. OTT
We have seen Kessel get hot before and proceed on several epic streaks thats why I am loving him. Kessel got off the schnide with just 2 goals, after going five games without a wish to begin his Coyotes tenure with. Kessel had two assists in five games, so Im looking for him to remain hot in this one tonight. After their power play tallied a pair of goals in Thursday, the Coyotes power play is currently clicking in a whopping 29.4% for the season, good for seventh in the NHL. Lets recall that Kessel has been one of the power play performers from the NHL over the previous couple of seasons after submitting 42 power play points at the year followed by 36 guy advantage points last year. He has bagged 12 power play markers. He has recorded three of the four points for fitures and this point to be a weapon on the power play alongside a good play-making centre in Stepan. Let us search to continue to fire a lot of pucks on target and return to the shoresheet again in this .
W — Clayton Keller (ARI) — $6,000 vs. OTT
Completing our three-man Coyotes heap is Keller wholl emphasise both Kessel and Stepan about the groups top line as well as the best power play unit . After submitting 23 goals and 65 points as a rookie from the 2017-18 year, Keller dropped to just 14 goals and 47 points in his sophomore campaign this past year. I have the utmost of assurance that Keller will crush those 47 points this season playing the top line along with a player in Kessel whos annually around a point-per-game participant in addition to a gifted high power play unit. He is off to a fine beginning with five points in six matches, however all of those points have come in aid form as he searches for his first goal of the year despite placing 15 pucks on target to this stage. We do know that he likes to take the puck as hes submitted at least 200 shots on goal in each of his first two seasons in the NHL, so the first aim of the season isnt far off, at all. On Thursday, Keller also loved a nighttime like Kessel . The matchup is a nice one and I think that this Coyotes top line has the upside to do some significant damage in this 1 tonight.
W — Yanni Gourde (TB) — $4,700 vs. COL
Continuing our Dragon stack is Gourde who will line up alongside Johnson on the teams second line as well as the next power play unit. It is interesting because a similar manufacturing drop was seen by Gourde as Keller did last season. After breaking out with 25 goals and 64 points at the 2017-18 season, Gourde fell to 22 goals and 48 points last season, representing a almost-identical points fall to Keller. Perhaps the actual Gourde is somewhere in between the two totals, but I enjoy the worth were getting together with him at the cost against an Avalanche team that could be quite vulnerable to their backup goaltender in goal along with having played only 24 hours before. Through seven games this season, Gourde has yet to come across the back of the web with zero goals but three assists at the moment. What we do know about him is that we arent likely to get a ton of shots on goal as he averaged only 1.6 shots per game during the past two seasons, however, he has also promised a high shooting percentage at the time with a mark of 17.4% for his profession. It will not be long until Gourde finds tonight and twine seems to be an matchup for that to occur.
W — David Pastrnak (BOS) — $8,600 vs. TOR
There isnt anyone sexier in the NHL right now than Pastrnak that has scored six goals and an assist over his last two games as the Bruins get set to have the rival Maple Leafs tonight in Toronto. Even though Pastrnak is obviously an elite player who has terrorized numerous teams he saves his very best work for all these Maple Leafs. Back in 15 regular season matchups with Toronto, Pastrnak has tallied 11 goals and 19 points to go along with 59 shots on goal, or 3.9 shots per match. He notched another 2 goals and six points in seven playoff games against them last season after tallying a couple of goals and 13 points in seven postseason games in the 2017-18 year old. Add it up and Pastrnak has tortured the Maple Leafs and 38 points over 29 games against them. He also scored 38 goals and notched 81 points in only 66 games last season and has eight goals and 13 points in just seven games this time around. He is shooting in an unsustainable 32% at the moment, but with how hot he is now and how hes played against the Maple Leafs, I do not mind paying the top price within this matchup tonight.
D — Mikhail Sergachev (TB) — $4,300 vs. COL
Completing our three-man Dragon heap is Sergachev who is having a true season so far in what could possible be a breakout year for the defenseman. We knew this child was unique when he tallied 40 points in 79 games as a rookie logging just 15:22 of ice time per game as a 19-year-old with that typical ice time symbolizing a minuscule number to get a defenseman. He didnt like quite as strong of a sophomore season with 32 points last year despite increasing his normal ice season to 17:55, however he has managed to notch six assists in seven games this year to go along with nine shots on target and 11 blocked shots also. He doesnt take a lot of shots, however considering that the ability level, we understood that his first goal of the year is not too far away. He is a true great power play defenseman at which hell skate on the second unit alongside Gourde and Johnson with two of his six helpers coming on the man advantage. Tonight will mark Tampas return home from a six-game road trip and only their second home game of this season after opening the year with five goals from the Panthers in Amalie Arena. Theyre an unreal home offense and Ill look to squeeze a bunch of value out of this trio tonight.
D — Torey Krug (BOS) — $5,800 vs. TOR
Improving our Bruins mini-stack is Krug who oversaw whats a devastating Bruins power play and one which ranks second in the NHL having a huge 38.1% clip at the moment. The Maple Leafs are directly in the middle of the league having a 15th-ranked penalty kill at 80.8 percent, however weve seen this Bruins man advantage brutalize the Maple Leafs at each of the last two postseasons, so we understand theres big-time upside down with Krug who is an integral part of that category. Case and point is five of Krugs aids this season coming on the man advantage while hes added an even-strength aim for six points in seven games to go along with 12 shots on goal. In a healthy season, Krug is still a good bet to emphasise that the barrie he has done so in each of the previous two seasons and has as many as 244 in one season as. He listed 53 points in just 64 games last year and is now off now within his free agent year. Perhaps one of the offensive defensemen in the NHL, there is a real strong chance Pastrnak and Krug produce.
G — Antti Raanta (ARI) — $7,500 vs. OTT
Im really not as I am sure Raanta is set to observe a great deal of it worried with this pick about ownership. The Senators enter this one rated 28th with just 2.33 goals per game on the time while the Coyotes ranking second with just 1.83 goals against per game. Darcy Kuemper has taken over the strong side of the timeshare in goal involving himself and Raanta having some nice work while Raanta has been on the shelf for much of the past two seasons, such as nearly all of last year, as tonight marks only the second start of the year for Raanta. He took in his lone start on a Colorado crime on the road known among the toughest matchups potential — and did well to afford three goals in a 3-2 loss, with the winner coming from overtime. Allowing just two regulation goals into the Avs in the road is certainly a strong devotion, although his .906 Sv% with that outing mightnt show it. But , the Coyotes are favored to win this one at -220 odds that were enormous, therefore the triumph upside is that there in spades tonight. I will take the triumph upside and the shutout upside at the most positive goaltending matchup with this masterpiece tonight.
