Kevin Bond resigns as Southend United boss after six defeats to open season

Southend United have accepted the resignation of Kevin Bond after a horrible start to the 2019-20 year old.
The Shrimpers have lost their opening six League One matches and sit in 22nd place, for going into administration, using Bolton below them because of their 12-point deduction.
Morning chairman Ron Martin satisfied with Bond on Friday and meeting concluded with all the 62-year-old tendering his resignation.
Bond helped guide Southend on the final afternoon of this 2018-19 campaign to safety and had taken charge.
“Kevin is a true professional coach with enormous knowledge in the business. His accomplishments in keeping the club in League One final season needs to be confessed and will long be remembered from the club’s supporters,” Martin said.
“Unfortunately the euphoria experienced in the end of this season has not translated to the pitch so far this season.
“But I remain confident that the players we have at Southend United, for instance, strong signings created by Kevin Bond, will enable a successful season under the guidance of a brand new manager.
“The hunt for this person begins now.”
