Michael van Gerwen and Dave Chisnall through to Grand Prix final
After both players procured dominant semi-final successes on Friday night , michael van Gerwen will face Dave Chisnall in the closing of the World Grand Prix.
The reigning champion was too powerful for Chris Dobey, since he chose the Englishman from some style, and it looked like he had another equipment in book.
In the evening, Glen Durrants debut conduct was ended by Chisnall, as Chizzy qualified for his first final.
The world remains on course to defend the Grand Prix name for the first period, and claim that his fifth crown in the procedure.
Mighty Mike turned with minimal fuss, before a reply was mustered by Dobey. Since he seemed to level affairs, the 2019 Premier League competition created a 2-0 lead in the second set.
MvG was not likely to offer him a sniff. The Dutchman that was uncontrolled reeled his competition right in, and broke his spirit by taking the set 3-2, in the final leg as a result of some 156 checkout.
From that point, it turned out to be a mere formality. MvG was operating at a higher degree, and always looked in control, breaking throw in the set decider.
The last group was a romp, since the Dutchman secured his final berth in style, finishing with a mean of all 91.41.
On this form, its difficult to make a case for any scenario that doesnt culminate on Saturday in a different name for MvG .
Dave Chisnall is now into his fifth PDC leading final, after a triumph over Glen Durrant at Citywest.
The 2013 Grand Prix runner-up was full value for his success, pulling away the prior BDO kingpin came roaring back to contention.
It had been Chizzy who burst into an early lead, hitting at on a 90 average to take the first set, 3-0. After Duzza missed two darts to get a fracture of throw Chisnall pushed to the set, and then subsequently pounced.
Durrant badly wanted to repay, and exactly like he did against Krzysztof Ratajski and Jermaine Wattimena this week, he shook off cobwebs to storm back into the contest. Holding throw at the first leg of their second group, Chizzy with a 154 checkout subsequently broke, prior to sealing the third in style.
The three-time Lakeside champ lasted his hot-streak, taking a break for a 1-0 lead. Chizzy needed something to break the momentum of his opponent as Duzza jumped forward – and a 170 end did the trick.
In fact, the fish has been the major turning point from the game. The former Premier League star propelled himself back also took the third at a leg.
From there, he did not look back. A 140 checkout helped Chizzy into the fourth set. Even with a fightback from the fifth from Duzza, it wasnt enough.
As a familiar foe is based within his way chisnall is now 1 step away from his first name that is PDC. The Englishman toppled in 2016 in the forefront of the Masters and Trainers Championship Finals – Chizzy will hope its a case of third time lucky.
Coverage of this World Grand Prix concludes with the ultimate live on Sky Sports Main and Sky Sports Action Event in 8pm on Saturday.
