Diehard winner Dustin Poirier was defeated by lightweight world winner Khabib Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi in their UFC 242 name unification bout.
Nurmagomedov, 30, filed the Poirier of America to make it 28 wins from 28 struggles.
The Russian outwrestled Poirier within the initial two rounds before securing a rear naked choke to cement his status as the UFC’s number one fighter.
